The Oct 17 game in Aberdeen is now canceled. We will not be rescheduling this game.

Just a couple updates regarding the junior boys’ volleyball team.
- I have added an additional game on Monday, October 17 in Aberdeen.
- We are hosting Langham after school on Monday (Sept. 26) – please feel free to come and support the boys!
- We are traveling to Martensville (Venture Heights) on Tuesday. I would like to leave school at 3pm. Please let me know ASAP if you plan to drive that day, so we can make sure that all 8 players have rides!
- There is no practice next week, just the games Monday and Tuesday.
Thanks! Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Unfortunately I have to make a couple changes to the junior boys vball schedule. Practice after school today is CANCELED. In addition, I am canceling and rescheduling our game this THURSDAY. We will practice that day instead.
When I have a reschedule date for the game, I will let you know. Sorry about any inconvenience.
September 13, 2016
I have some updated volleyball dates to pass along. Although I assume that these dates will all remain the same, there could be changes or additions as the season progresses. As of now, we have:
Practices (from 330-445pm): Sept 13, Sept 15, Sept 19, Oct 6, Oct 12
Home games (approx.. 1.5hrs from whenever the visiting team arrives): Sept 22 (vs Venture Heights), Sept 26 (vs Langham), Oct 20 (vs Perdue)
Away games (we will leave at 3pm for all away games): Sept 27 (vs Venture Heights), Oct 4 (vs Perdue)
Playoffs: Monday Oct 31, Thursday Nov 3, Saturday Nov 5
There are still a couple of schools getting back to me about scheduling, so we might still add another game or two. Due to scheduling conflicts, we will not attend any weekend tournaments. Please start thinking about driving to away games and playoffs. If you have any other questions or concerns, please let me know.
JUNIOR BOYS VOLLEYBALL 2016
Welcome parents and athletes to the 2016 volleyball season!
I am excited to be coaching our junior boys team this year, and want to provide some information before the season gets underway.
Our practices will usually be on Tuesday and Thursday after school from 3:15-4:45pm. If these need to be canceled or changed, I will let parents and students know in advance. I am also signing us up for the volleyball league, meaning we will often have a volleyball game (either at home or at another Prairie Spirit school) one night per week. We will likely only practice once on weeks when we also have a league game.
I will also consider signing us up for one or two weekend tournaments. These will typically occur during the day on Saturday (although occasionally they will be Friday evening and Saturday). I know that some players have other commitments on weekends in September and October, however, and invite feedback from parents about the feasibility of attending these tournaments. I would also like to consider hosting a home tournament in October, but will provide more information once our schedule is set.
A successful volleyball season is not possible without the help of parents. We will need parent drivers for all games and tournaments, and it is essential that we have rides available for all of our athletes. We currently have 9 students on the team, so we would need at least 2 parent drivers to be available for each event. I will contact parents prior to all away games to determine who is able to drive. Please ensure that all required volunteer and driving forms are submitted to the office ASAP! In addition, please submit the $10 fee for junior athletics as soon as you get a chance.
This should be an exciting volleyball season, especially if the enthusiasm that I saw at our first practice is any indication. Our athletes have a lot to learn, but they all seem incredibly enthusiastic about the upcoming season. I look forward to helping them grow as players, teammates, and sportsmen over the next two months. Please don’t hesitate to call or email me with any questions!
Mr. Mitch Luiten
