Resonate 2018


Returning for Resonate 2017 is Chris Merk.  Merk, also known as Merky Waters, is a Regina-based Hip-Hop producer, DJ, beat boxer and educator. He has been DJing in the city since 1998 and producing Hip-Hop music since 2001, recording and performing with fellow SK artists Def 3, Eekwol, InfoRed and more.  To learn more about Chris, go to:  Chris will be here for Resonate For Students.

New to Resonate 2017 are musician duo Elly (aka Elly Paris) and Eric Glyn-Jones.  Elly will presenting sessions focused on vocals and Eric will present on all things related to Guitar.  To learn more about Elly and Eric check out their website here:

New to Resonate 2017 is artist and photographer Cory Schewaga.  Look for some interesting displays at Resonate from Cory and learn how he creates “sound art.”  Check out Cory’s work here:

Returning for Resonate 2018 to run the drumming sessions are Chris Crockarell and Chris Brooks of Roll-Off Publishing from Nashville, TN! Musical Instrument Building

Have some fun inventing and building whoville-style musical instruments.  This session will connect understandings around volume, length, shape, and materials to their impact on musical pitch, tone, and texture.  Using found objects and various building materials, teachers can get creative in this is a hands-on sound exploration activity that is fun and easy to do with students of any grade level.

No prior musical background required.


Industry Panel Discussion 

Grab a coffee and sit down with our guest artists for a conversation about the music industry, career paths, and what we can do in education to support our students’ interests in these fields.

Professional Networking

During this time, teachers can get together with other teachers to network, share ideas, ask questions, and focus on learning and growing from each other.
