Spirit week is next week

Spirit week will be starting on Monday next week. The themes include:

Monday-Fashion Mishap Day (might not be too hard for some to accomplish this…)

Tuesday-Twin Day-You may “copy” for this theme!

Wenesday-Decade “Do” Hair-Personally-I like the 80’s-nice big, poofy hair and mullets!

Thursday-Jersey Day-Let’s all come dressed in our Maple Leafs jerseys

Friday-Red/White/Pink Day-I have nothing funny to add to this….

Show your Edge Spirit and dress up-parents you are welcome to participate in this as well!

One More Week of School…

Next week will be busy week. Check the newsletter to see what is going on in the school.  Starting Monday, the SRC is sponsoring a Spirit Week.  How fitting that Monday is PJ day.  Look for an ugly sweater for Tuesday as it is ugly sweater day.  Red and green day is on Wednesday with whiteout day on Thursday. We are going to wrap the week up with formal day and the annual Christmas dinner.

Another great week…

Thanks to all of the students who dressed up during Spirit Week. It was a huge success. There were some scary costumes on Friday afternoon.

Thank you to the SRC who put together an awesome afternoon for grades 1-6 with some Halloween themed centres.

Have a great weekend

Parent/Teacher interviews

Parent/teacher interviews are quickly approaching. The two dates are Wednesday, October 29th and Wednesday, November 5th. A note will be going home regarding scheduled interview times for all students. Please not that if the scheduled time is not convenient for you, please contact the school office at 306-257-3311 and we can try to make another scheduled time.

Work Experience Drivers Needed

We are currently looking for individuals to drive our work experience students to their work placements in Saskatoon for the week of October 20th to 24th.  If you are interested, or for more information please, contact the school office at 306-257-3311.

Grade 3-8 students visit Sigmund Brouwer

Students in grades 3-8 had a road trip today to Viscount Central School. We were met with warm hospitality and entertained by an amazing public speaker and author Sigmund Brouwer.  He captivated the audience with music and story. The students and staff were able to have several takeaways from the day including:

-anything can be used to inspire us as writers including music

-writing should be done in layers-bringing the reader in—telling a story and bringing the reader back in

-free online literature and he donated 40 books to each school.

Thank you Viscount for the opportunity to see Mr. Brouwer and thank you to the students of Allan Composite School for how well you behaved in another school!

Have a great weekend!

End of the Year

Well another year has passed and while we are sad to see our students move on to different grades, we are excited to get “new” ones next year.  On behalf of the Allan Staff, we would like to wish you a Happy Summer. See you in the fall.
