An invitation has been set our during discovery for the last while to explore our different feelings and help students connect feelings to a visual representation using loose parts. Many of them are able to make connections of their own lives, whether it is how they are feeling at one moment or how they have felt certain situations. Many of the Kinders were able to identify to the characters from “Inside Out” and used these characters as a starting point in many conversations about self and others. Wonderful discussions as well as artistic expressions have occurred at this table each morning. The interest in this topic will transition into the Zones of Regulation work we will begin soon.
