LOCAL SCHOLARSHIPS (as of May 2020)
The deadline for three Martensville High School Local Scholarships has been extended to Friday, May 29.

If you are heading into the trades, be sure to apply for the Abe Reddekopp Scholarship or the Martensville Plumbing & Heating Scholarship. If you are planning a career in protective services (firefighter, paramedic, police officer/RCMP or conservation officer) be sure to apply for the Protective Services Scholarship

Below please find a list of MHS local scholarships for grade 12 students for the 2019-2020 academic year. The application deadline was: Friday, May 22 (unless otherwise stated).

  1. Criteria:
    a) Eligibility: The student must be eligible to graduate and must apply for scholarships by the deadline.  Some scholarships require that students be attending school in the Fall of 2020 and some do not. Be sure to read all requirements thoroughly.

    b) Application:
    All scholarships require an application form. Application forms are available on the Martensville High School Website under “Scholarships/Awards” as well as through the daily announcements. Marks will be used as of grade 12 – Semester One.

    c) Submitting Applications: Applications must be e-mailed or shared through GoogleDocs to Ms. Cooper at breanne.cooper@spiritsd.ca by 3:30 p.m. on May 22, 2020. In the subject line of your email indicate: 2020 Scholarship Application – Last Name, First Name.

    Include in your email:
    – The completed application form (saved as LastNameFirstNameScholarshipName2020)
    – A copy of your acceptance letter (if required)
    – Any other supporting material required
  2. Receiving the Scholarship Certificate: After the scholarships have been awarded, you must send a thank you card to be completed and mailed to the sponsor by July 1, 2020.
  3. Receiving the Scholarship Cheque: In August or September 2020, you or your parent/guardian will submit a copy of paid tuition from the post-secondary institution in person or by emailing breanne.cooper@spiritsd.ca (email preferred) along with your current mailing address. At this time, your scholarship cheque will be processed and mailed out. You will receive your cheque in the mail approximately 2-3 weeks later.

Elwood Harvey Scholarship for Grade 11 Students: 
This program is designed for young Affinity Credit Union members who aspire to make a big difference in their community. If you’re in Grade 11, looking forward to your post-secondary education and seeking ways to develop your leadership skills, then this is for you! Access Communications Scholarship:

Affinity Build a Better World Scholarship:
To be eligible, you need to be graduating high school this spring and starting a post-secondary program in the fall. You (or your parent or guardian) also needs to be an Affinity Credit Union member. CWB Welding Foundation Scholarships:
Are you going into welding or pursing career in trades related to the energy industry? For information regarding scholarships, please visit https://www.cwbweldingfoundation.org/awards

Prairie Spirit Teachers Association Scholarship: 
The Prairie Spirit Teachers Association is pleased to award four scholarships of $500.00 each to Prairie Spirit School Division students graduating in 2020 who are enrolled in a post-secondary institution. Prairie Spirit teachers value lifelong learning and the positive impact lifelong learners have on their communities. Successful applicants will demonstrate significant academic growth and a commitment to supporting and sharing learning within their community. Hy-Tech Drilling Scholarship: 
Hy-Tech Drilling is offering three $500 scholarships for grade twelve students. The scholarship categories are: Innovative Thinking, Creative Arts, and Trade School. E-mail Ms. Cooper for an application form or for more information. The deadline to apply is Friday, May 8, 2020.

Scholarship for Students Pursing Agriculture: 
Are you pursing post-secondary students in the College of Agriculture next year? If so, check out this scholarship opportunity from the Saskatchewan Institute of Agrologists valued at $1000. For more information or to apply, visit: http://www.sia.sk.ca/html/scholarship

 Martensville Community Recreation Project Scholarship:
The MCRP is awarding $2000 in scholarships. This can be given to any number of students who apply. The scholarship is open to all individuals who are residents of Martensville and surrounding and attending Martensville High School. To be eligible, the student must be eligible to graduate, must apply for scholarships by the deadline and must be pursuing post-secondary education in the following year. The MCRP will give preference to students who have volunteered to help promote sport in the city of Martensville at the community or high school level. This can be through coaching, managing, officiating and growing sports in our city. The deadline for the application is May 15, 2020. Saskatchewan School Boards Association Scholarships:
Two scholarships of $2500 each are available for students pursuing a degree program or a technical/trade program. The deadline to apply is August 31, 2020. For more information or two apply, visit https://saskschoolboards.ca/about-us/awards-and-scholarships/education-scholarships/
