Sask Polytech Virtual Open House – October 25-28th (4-9pm)

SIEC Learning Opportunities

AUTOBODY SKILLS BOOTCAMP – RUNS TUESDAYS from Nov.2 – 30th

The Saskatoon Industry Education Council (SIEC), in partnership with Saskatchewan Polytechnic, is excited to present you with the opportunity to explore the automotive industry. If you enjoy working on cars, restoring classic cars and have an interest in becoming an Autobody Technician, get a head start on your future career!

Participation in the camp opens the door for you to gain a basic understanding of autobody service and repair. It also provides you the opportunity to engage in hands-on activities with a qualified instructor.

Application deadline is October 27th

REQUIREMENTS: Masks will be required at all times while in the building.  Full vaccination is required.  This is a SASKPOLYTECH MANDATE.

YOUNG WOMEN EXPLORING CAREERS – NOVEMBER 4th (4:30 – 6:30)

The Saskatoon Industry Education Council is excited to announce our virtual CONNECTED: Young Women Exploring Careers on Thursday, November 4th, from 4:30 – 6:30 pm. CONNECTED links high school females with women mentors from a vast spectrum of career backgrounds. This eventwelcomes students pursuing all post-secondary pathways: work, university, college or apprenticeship and those who are still deciding.

CONNECTED is a must-attend event for all females as you make plans for your future career journey!

We will also be awarding a $500 scholarship to one Grade 12 student.

SPOTLIGHT ON CAREERS – PRESENTED BY SIEC
The Saskatoon Industry Education Council is excited to announce our Spotlight on Careers in Health Care. We will host live virtual events and share industry interviews and tours.

Virtual Gairdner PresentationTuesday, October 26th (1:00 – 2:00 pm)

  • Hear from the 2021 Canada Gairdner Wightman Award recipient, Dr. Elizabeth Eisenhauer as she shares her career journey in cancer research.
  • This live online event will provide the opportunity for participant Q&A.

Virtual Spotlight on NursingWednesday, October 27th (6:30 – 8:00 pm)

  • Hear from the admissions advisors from the University of Saskatchewan College of Nursing, Saskatchewan Polytechnic Practical Nursing, the University of Regina SCBScN.
  • During this virtual event, participants will also experience the new technologies utilized by these programs, and virtually tour the facilities.
  • This live online event will provide the opportunity for participant Q&A.

Virtual Spotlight on Medical DiagnosticsThursday, October 28th (6:30 – 8:00 pm)

  • Participants will hear from the admissions advisor from Saskatchewan Polytechnic Medical Diagnostics Programs, the Saskatchewan Health Authority regarding job prospects, and industry professionals sharing their career journeys.
  • This live event will provide the opportunity for participant Q&A

HAIRSTYLING & ESTHETICS BOOTCAMP – RUNS Mondays from November 15th  – December 13th

Are you passionate about hairstyling or esthetics? Do you have skills you are looking to expand on? If you find doing your own make up, hair or nails no longer sufficient, then the SIEC Hairstyling and Esthetics Skills Boot Camp is for you!

Being a professional hair stylist or esthetician is an extremely rewarding job that requires working in a fast paced, exciting environment. The SIEC Hairstyling and Esthetics Skills Boot Camp aims to give you an opportunity to expand on your current knowledge.

REQUIREMENTS: Masks will be required at all times in the building (Mount Royal Collegiate).
