Paralympic Announcements- Tomorrow the 12th Paralympic Games will be starting in Pyeongchang, South Korea.  These games run from March 9th-18th.

The Paralympic Games are a major international multi-sport event involving athletes with a range of disabilities, including impaired muscle power, impaired passive range of movement, limb deficiency, leg length difference, short stature, vision impairment and intellectual impairment.  The Paralympic games were designed to emphasize the participants’ athletic achievements and not their disability.

The games consist of 6 sporting events: Para Alpine (downhill skiing), Para Ice Hockey, Para Nordic (biathlon and cross-country), Para snowboard and Wheelchair curling.


1.Thank you to our Gr. 5 to 7 students, parents and staff for a good day at Table Mountain yesterday.  A big thanks to Mr. Garner for once again planning our ski/snowboard trip.  We already look forward to next year!

2. Gr. 5 and 6 Girls and Boys Basketball teams are travelling to Duck Lake this afternoon to play the Stobart Rebels.  The bus will be leaving at 2:45 and we hope to return by 5:30.  Good luck boys and girls!

Girls: Team 2 your practice today at noon is cancelled.  Team 1 will be playing the game today.  Please be ready by 2:45.  Miss Kenaschuk is still missing 5 permission slips, please get those to her by noon today!

Boys: Both the Gr. 5’s and 6’s will be travelling today.  We will call you to get ready around 2:40

3. Today is International Women’s Day.  A big thank you to our moms, wives, daughters, sisters, grandmas, great-grandmas, aunties, teachers, educational assistants, admin assistants, caretakers, SLP’s and any other wonderful women we may have forgot to mention for all that you do not only today but everyday!!!
