Valley Manor will be celebrating Halloween next Friday, October 30th as we typically do with an opportunity for students to dress-up in costume for the afternoon. Due to limited access to washrooms as part of our safety plan (5 students in at one time) we ask that students either bring a costume that can go over their clothes after lunch or that students go home at lunch to change/dress-up. Students not wanting to wear a costume are welcome to wear pajamas, their favorite jersey, their clothes backwards/inside out or orange and black clothes as an alternative.
All health and safety protocols will continue to be followed such as wearing masks, and regular hand washing/hand sanitation. All costume props (brooms, weapons, wands, hockey sticks, etc.) need to be left at home so that they do not become touch points for others.
Our regular costume parade through classrooms will not occur as it will be difficult to maintain social distance and we do not want to mix cohorts. If the weather permits, we may look at some type of opportunity for others to see costumes outside, but no guarantees this will happen!
Each classroom will have their own plans for the afternoon which could be simply to carry on with learning. If a classroom is having Halloween activities/party no shared food from home is permitted as per our Safe School Plan.
We hope everyone has a great long weekend. We look forward to seeing everyone on Wednesday, October 28th.
