Containers for Home Economics
The Home Ec lab is always in need of containers for the students to take their cooking and baking creations home in. If you have any that you are not using, please consider bringing/sending them to the high school. Thank you.
Track and Field
As the season is just around the corner, we invite you to start thinking about getting fit. EVERYONE makes the track team so if you meet the requirements you will be competing for Dalmeny High.
IMPORTANT DATES:
*March 26th will be the start date of Track and Field.
Practice times will be after school March 26, 27 and 28th.
**After the Easter Holiday Practices will be:
Monday – Wed 3-4:30
Tues- Thursday 7am -8:30 am.
*Husky Clinics will be April 19th and 26th for regular PE classes and Track Club 1-4 pm.
*May 3rd will be the Local Meet
*May 17th – Conference B in Saskatoon
*May 25th – Districts in Saskatoon
*June 1st and 2nd– Provincials for grade 9-12 in Prince Albert.

Parent/Teacher Interviews
March 21, 2018, from 3:15pm – 8:00pm we are hosting parent/teacher interviews at the High School. If you would like to talk with a teacher or a group of teachers, please call the school to set up a time. 306-254-2036
Senior Girls Basketball
The Regular season has been completed and has the makings of an historic one. The girls’ record is an astounding 26-1, winning 5 tournaments along the way. They head into March Madness ranked in the top 5 in the Province. Best of luck at Eagleview (Onion Lake) on the weekend for the first round of play offs. After that is Regionals, and a chance at the big prize – HOOPLA.

3.The College of Kinesiology Aquatics Program at the U of S is looking to hire and train lifeguards and swim instructors. Through their programs, students are able to achieve certification which would allow them to apply for a job at the U of S or at any other aquatic facility. Becoming a lifeguard and/or swim instructor is an excellent job with flexible hours and great pay. Students also learn leadership and teamwork skills! 4.The Saskatoon Engineering Student Society is hosting an event for female students in grades 9-12 who are interested in pursuing a career in science and engineering. The event takes place on March 22in Saskatoon. To register go to the following link.
5. SIEC Baking Boot camp – Application deadline is Mar 28th
Being a professional pastry chef is an extremely rewarding job that requires working in a fast-paced exciting environment. This Boot Camp aims to give students an opportunity to expand on their current knowledge and learn from qualified instructors from the Culinary Arts program at Sask Polytechnic. There will be 5 sessions starting Tuesday April 10th.
6.INSIGHT, Saskatchewan Polytechnic Saskatoon Campus Tuesday, April 17, 2018 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. 1130 Idylwyld Dr N Room 104 (Lecture Theatre)
It’s an ideal way to get an in-depth look at a specific program and become familiar with the student life, campus atmosphere, financial aid, admission requirements and the application process.
INSIGHT is available to students in grades 11 and 12 as well as high school graduates.

8.Are you looking for a great experience this summer? The Saskatchewan Co-operative Youth Program offers a unique leadership training opportunity each July & August called the Co-op Camp. It’s a leadership program for youth ages 12 to 18 and is a great opportunity for personal development, leadership training, co-operative education, recreation and lots of fun with participants spending a week at Candle Lake or Last Mountain Lake. http://youth.sask.coop/scyp_camp_dates.html

9. Are you interested in being a Counsellor-in-Training this summer? Camp Easter Seal is looking for students in grades 10-12 who would like training to work as a Special Needs Counsellor. You would be trained to work with individuals with physical and intellectual disabilities. Many students use this program to explore a career in human services. Colleges such as Social Work, Nursing and Education consider the volunteer hours that students accumulate at Camp when they apply for post-secondary education. Click for more information.
