Playground Meeting Tonight

We are having our first playground meeting tonight. The meeting will be at Venture Heights School starting at 7:00. At our meeting we will be discussing our playground, our logo and school name, and school pictures. We would like to welcome any parents whose children may attend Lake Vista in the 2017-2018 school year. Below is a rendering of what they playground may look like. It is one of the topics we will discuss tonight. We look forward to seeing you there!

Lake Vista Update

We had very successful meetings on Monday, February 13 and Wednesday, February 15. I would like to thank everyone for coming out to those meetings. Below is some attached information about Lake Vista. The excitement for the school is building. Many families have committed to having their children attend Lake Vista.

Main Messages for Lake Vista Public School

Please ensure that you fill in the Family Information Form. Every family with a child that attends school in Martensville or child that will be attending school in 2017 needs to fill the form in. These forms will provide us with the information we need to continue to make decisions around transportation, staffing, and other important decisions.

The Child Care provider will be chosen within the next couple of weeks. A decision on the Before and After School Program will also be decided within the next few weeks. Please subscribe to this website for the latest updates and information.

If you are interested in volunteering for our Playground Committee please contact Chris Mason. We have our first meeting on Thursday, March 2 at 7:00 pm. This group will also serve as a parent advisory group for many exciting decisions that will be made about Lake Vista School.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to call (306-683-2924) or email (chris.mason@spiritsd.ca) Chris Mason (principal).

Affinity Credit Union

A huge thank you to Affinity Credit Union for donating $5000.00 to our playground. This is our first donation and it is very exciting that the ball is rolling. We really appreciate Affinity Credit Union’s generosity.

Lake Vista will be fundraising for our playground with Holy Mary School (our neighbour). The goal of our two schools is to have our playgrounds installed and ready to use by the start of our first school day in 2017. We will be approaching businesses to ask for their financial support for our playgrounds. We will also accept personal donations. Lake Vista will also be seeking grants.

We have looked at some different proposals from playground equipment companies. The price range that was set for Lake Vista was $150 000.00. We wanted to have playground equipment that utilized most of the space that is provided. We also wanted to ensure that the playground provided equipment where the students could get a lot of different kinds of exercise and have fun. I have included a couple pictures of what our playground may look like.

If you are interested in helping us raise money for our playground please feel free to send me an email (chris.mason@spiritsd.ca). I know that we are going to need all the help we can get.

Pictures

We had some pictures approved to put up on our website. There are a variety of pictures that include the large gymnasium, upstairs learning spaces, washrooms, and commons spaces,
