Grade 12 News

After years of waiting, our Grade 12 year is finally here, and everyone is really busy getting back into the swing of things. In English/Social Studies, we are learning about Canada and everything our country has to offer. In Workplace and Apprenticeship Math, we are about to have our first test, while we are focusing on Rational Function Transformations (Is that a real thing? It sounds made up.) in Pre-Calculus, and in Chemistry, we are finishing up reviews from last year.

Grade 12 is coming to an end it seems to have flown by. Grad was a success and something we will remember for years to come. Thanks to Mrs. Prakash for all the hard work you put into this year’s festivities. Our classes are winding down and we are preparing for finals. In English, we have just finished reading Hamlet and writing our Twitter accounts. Biology has taught us our many body systems and how they work. In Physics, we just completed our last unit and we are now preparing for the Departmental Exam. In Calculus, we just completed a self-taught chapter. In Phys Ed, we wrapped up our last fitness test. We would like to give a special thank you to our teachers and parents for putting up with us these past years.

The grade 12’s have had an awesome year so far and are ready to wrap things up in this last month. In English we are finishing the novel Brave New World, and about to start Hamlet. In Physics, we just had worked on a Power unit and we  are moving on to Energy. In Biology we are working on Genetics.

Grade 12 News

In our favourite classes, we are studying all kinds of foods and countries. In Bio, we just finished writing our unit test on cells! Calculus and Math sure have a lot of confusing word problems that keep us on our toes. The same goes for Phys Ed, as we have started a new game called Pickleball. It’s fun and we as a class get pretty competitive, so it makes the game all the more fun!

And lastly, our English classes; our two split classes are reading two different books, Hamlet and Brave New World. They are both very interesting stories. They are hard to understand at first, but both are great books… according to Mr. Kirk.

Grade 12 News

Once upon a time, there was a group of Grade 12 students who were starting their last semester of school.  These students were separated into two groups: the first group had English first thing in the morning and learned about Inner Beauty and how society shapes our thoughts on what beauty means, while the second group made resumés in preparation for their future.  Every day after English, the first group took a treacherous journey across the dreaded hallway to Prakashland to learn about Physics and Kinematics.  Some of these Grade 12’s were brave enough to risk the perils of Calculus, but before they could face that feared Mathematical Dragon, they needed to review and practice their previous Math training. Biology was considered to be of use for both groups of students, so all declared “Yes, we will Biologize!” And they did, by exploring the building blocks that make up the Human Body.  Amidst all of this rigorous learning, the youthful Grade 12’s kept themselves in top shape in Physical Education. They also set forth on their most exciting adventure yet: Planning Graduation. Oh the wonders of being in Grade 12. The End.

In English and History, we have started reading Three Day Road, a great book about two First Nations boys in the WWI. In Math, we have start- ed our third unit on Trigonom- etry, while in Chemistry, we are finishing learning about Thermodynamics. Life Transitions and Home Ec are teaching us similar things – how to eat healthy while saving money, but in Home Ec we are quickly moving on to our individual projects. The I.A. students are working hard building stuff. That concludes this paragraph. Thanks for reading.
