Grade Four Environmental Awareness Bake Sale

Reminder to all families that there will be a bake sale tomorrow, Tuesday, May 30th, for all Grade 4-8 students.  Items are available for purchase for $1.00 each and proceeds are going to the Canadian Wildlife Federation, supporting the Swift Fox and Burrowing Owl. 4D have worked hard creating power point presentations on our world’s environmental issues that will be playing during the sale.

Monday, May 29th- Daily Announcements

1.Playoff Predictor Bracket Challenge- Round 3 Winner: Dylan B. 4E!  Only 7 students remain with Pittsburgh as their Stanley Cup Champion.  No one picked Nashville.

2.Buster Days Parade- Our School Community Council is still looking for students to participate in the Buster Day’s Parade this Saturday.  If you would like to be in the parade, please ask for a permission slip in the office.  You can return your signed permission slip to Mr. Cox any time before Saturday.

3. Gr. 7 & 8 Basketball Players- there will be a scrimmage tomorrow after school.

Thursday, May 25th- Daily Announcements

1.Buster Day’s is next weekend.  Our Valley Manor School Community Council is looking for students to walk or ride their bikes in the annual Parade on Saturday, June 3rd. If you are interested in participating in the parade, please pick up a permission slip from the office.

2. Tomorrow is Twin/Triplet Day- Plan to dress the same as your sibling or a friend(s).  Thanks to our SLT for sponsoring this fun day!  Tomorrow is also Gr. 5-8 Healthy Hunger Day (Wok Box)

3. Congratulations to Shaelagh S. in Gr. 8 for completing the 3000 m race yesterday in Dalmeny.  Well Done!

4. Today and Tomorrow we will be doing a spring School Yard Clean-Up.  Each grade has been designated an area to clean-up.  Gloves and garbage bags will be provided.  Thank you to everyone for their help in cleaning up our yard.  Please do your part to keep our yard clean by putting your garbage in 1 of the 5 Garbage cans located in our school yard!

Gr. 7 and 8 Students-Please leave your sunflower seeds (Spitz) at home.  Our caretaking staff had to clean up a pile of shells from the hallway yesterday.  Thanks for your help in keeping our school clean!

Bake sale hosted by 4D Tuesday, May 30 (for Grade 4 to 8 students)

Attention Grades 4-8 students

4D will be hosting a  bake sale for students in grades four to eight on Tuesday, May 30th inside the gym.  

We are hoping to bring recognition to environmental issues as well as raising money for the Canadian Wildlife Federation supporting our Swift Fox and Burrowing Owls.  Treats will be a loonie each! Thanks for supporting our province’s endangered animals and learning more about our environment!!

Grade 4’s and 5’s second annual Art Show

The grade fours and fives are hosting their second annual an art show! Students at VMS will have the opportunity to view the artwork throughout the day.

Family and and friends, please join us for a juice box and/or coffee and view the beautiful works of art that our students have created and worked so hard on throughout the year!
