As part of Prairie Spirit’s new Power School system, automated messages regarding student’s unknown absences for Valley Manor will begin on Tuesday, December 16th. If your child’s whereabouts is unknown in the morning or in the afternoon, an automated message will be sent to your home phone, your cell phone numbers and the emails that we have on file. This duty was previously performed by our administrative assistants and took an incredible amount of their time. For example, today we had 149 students absent for various reasons so even if 2/3 of parents called this would leave 50 parent phone calls to be made. Your assistance is greatly appreciated by calling the school at 306 931 2233 (messages can be left after hours), or sending an email (firstname.lastname@example.org) when your child is going to be away from school for any reason (sick, holiday, appointments etc…). If you do receive a message, please call the school and clear your child’s absence so that we, co-operatively, know everyone’s whereabouts. Please call or email prior to 9 am so that we can record the absence and avoid an erroneous message being sent your way. The system is in place for our children’s protection and safety, so again your co-operation is appreciated.
Happy Birthday: Jaydan, Lydia, Kenzie, Jessica and Isla
