In the Grade 1 Geometry our goals are to have your child:

  • sort 2D and 3D shapes using a given sorting rule
  • sort 2D and 3D shapes using a sorting rule of the students’ choice
  • recreate a picture using correct 2D and 3D shapes
  • compare 2D shapes to parts of 3D objects

Students will sort objects according to attributes. Does the object:

  • have vertices (corners)
  • have curved edges
  • have faces
  • have straight edges
  • roll
  • slide
  • stack
