Our virtue for the month of April is Compassion.
Compassion means we care about others, treat them with kindness, and feel a strong desire to help people in need. Compassion is empathy in action. For some, compassion might look like giving a hug, making a card, or saying something kind to help a friend or family member who is feeling sad or upset. It can also look like reaching out to a peer who has been left out – or hearing about a community need and wanting to do something to help others, even if they do not know them.
So, for the month of April, we are going to focus on compassion. We are going to treat others the way we would like to be treated. We are going to care for the needs and feelings of others. We strongly encourage you to show compassion for others during our Easter Break. Talk to your parents, friends and relatives about compassion and then tell us about the examples of how you were compassionate when we get back from the break.
